Students at Sir Graham Balfour have been considering their future careers at a convention held at the school. Year nine pupils attended a careers fair held at the school last week. The aim of the day was to give the students information about the range of career choices and further education opportunities available to them when they leave school. This insight will also enable them to make a more informed decision when they make their subject choices for Year 10 in the coming weeks. Organisations in attendence included Staffordshire Police, Indigo Training Solutions, South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust, Francesco Group, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue and Titanic Brewery. Each answered questions from the students and provided a taster activity for them to try, focusing on key skills they may use in their profession. Beth Collins, Head of Year Nine, said: “It was lovely to see our students, the future workforce, trying out all the different activities and becoming aware of all the options they have available to them for the future. We would like to thank every organisation who gave up their time to make this possible.” |
